Decoding Amazon Decoded: Building a B2B Newsletter That Matters

When we first launched Amazon Decoded back in February 2024, we knew we wanted to create something special – something more than just another newsletter. And honestly, it’s quickly become an integral part of how we help brands truly thrive on Amazon. As a Marketing Lead at Amerge, I can’t tell you how proud I am of what we’ve built with this monthly publication, and I’m really excited to pull back the curtain on its journey, where we’re headed, and what you can expect next.


The Power of Connection in B2B 


Let’s face it: in the B2B world, you need more than just updates – you need real, valuable insights to stay ahead. That’s precisely why we pour so much into our newsletter. It’s not just about sending information; it’s about building a direct connection, delivering the timely, relevant content that genuinely helps you navigate complex spaces like Amazon. We truly believe it’s key to building trust and showcasing our thought leadership. And to make sure you never miss out, we’ve designed Amazon Decoded with a handy three-touchpoint framework: email, our website, and LinkedIn. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to get the valuable content you need.

From the very beginning, our aim with Amazon Decoded has been to raise the bar for B2B newsletters. Each edition is meticulously crafted with a distinct structure designed to provide comprehensive value:

  • Amerge Cornerstone Video: We kick off every newsletter with a unique cornerstone video. This isn’t your typical B2B newsletter fare, and that’s precisely our intention. We differentiate ourselves by offering diverse video content, including short case studies, deep dives into our 5th-anniversary milestones, insightful podcast recordings, and product videos explaining our services. We believe video adds an invaluable layer of engagement and clarity.
  • Amerge Updates: This section is incredibly popular, and for good reason. We cover the latest happenings at Amerge, from upcoming events we’ll be attending to highlights from those we’ve just concluded. More importantly, this is where we showcase the expert insights and interviews from our incredible team members.

At Amerge, you won’t find us hiding behind fancy statistics. We believe our greatest strength lies in our people. It’s something we’re incredibly proud of: over 70% of our team brings invaluable ex-Amazon experience to the table, a truly unique differentiator in our industry. We love to introduce you to the “heroes” who truly drive our clients’ success – from our experienced DSP, Sponsored Ads, and Selling Partner Account Managers, to our brilliant designers, our expert tech and analytics teams, and our dedicated Account Executives and Client Strategy Leads.   • Amazon Updates: Staying Ahead of the Curve. The Amazon ecosystem is constantly evolving. In this section, we curate the most exciting and crucial updates from renowned media outlets like Adweek and DigiDay, alongside insights from respected Amazon evangelists such as Jeff Cohen, and others. We cover a diverse range of topics, from Amazon Ads and updates for vendors and sellers to ad tech advancements – everything you need to know to thrive with Amazon.
  • Insightful Case Study: We conclude each newsletter with a practical and detailed case study. These explain a client’s background, the challenges they faced, our strategic approach to finding solutions, and the remarkable insights gained. We also include testimonials from our team members who worked directly on the campaign, offering a real-world perspective on our collaborative success. Our goal is to consistently raise the bar on content quality with every passing month.

Looking Ahead: Expanding Our Reach and Impact


The journey with Amazon Decoded has been incredibly fulfilling. While our open rates of 35-40% for a B2B newsletter are something to celebrate, my utmost goal remains consistent: to deliver high-quality content that empowers brands to explore our services and navigate the dynamic landscape of Amazon.

We’ve also begun experimenting with unique, event-driven editions. In May, we released a special post-OMR toolkit for those we connected with at the event. 

Looking ahead, we’re taking our content to the next level with special editions tailored around key industry events. We just sent out an edition with all the details on how to register for our upcoming Amerge Oktoberfest Summit. After the event, we’ll follow up with another special edition to share the most impactful insights and strategies. The event-driven content doesn’t stop there—we’re also planning a special edition to cover our time at unBoxed in Nashville this November, bringing you all the biggest trends and learnings directly to your inbox.
