At Amerge, “Be Human” represents more than just one of our company values. It’s a guiding principle that inspires us to act with empathy, foster connection, and find meaningful ways to support those around us. Today, we’re proud to share the story of one of our team members, Chloe Enever, who has chosen to channel a deeply personal experience into action by running the London Marathon to raise funds for others in need.
This journey began with a life-altering event for Chloe´s family.
The Life Changed in a Moment
“On September 4th, 2023, we experienced something unimaginable. My 18-year-old little sister, Karis, suffered a bleed on the brain. It came without any warning,” said Chloe.
These words capture the beginning of a family’s challenging road. That day, Karis was rushed to the hospital after collapsing in pain. Tests and scans confirmed the seriousness of her condition, leading to her immediate transfer to Queen’s Hospital for emergency brain surgery.
While the procedure was ultimately successful, it marked the start of a long recovery process. Karis showed incredible strength throughout weeks of intensive care and months of physical and emotional recovery at home. Just as her family began to breathe a sigh of relief, a six-month check-up revealed devastating news: a second aneurysm required another round of surgery.
“Throughout this ordeal, Karis has been an absolute warrior – the strongest of us all. She’s embracing life with a whole new perspective.”
This experience profoundly impacted her family and inspired them to take action—not only to honor Karis’ journey but also to support others facing similar challenges.
Why the London Marathon?
In the face of adversity, our colleague decided to take part in the London Marathon, one of the world’s most renowned long-distance events. This iconic 26.2-mile race through the streets of London is a global platform for stories of perseverance and purpose. Runners often dedicate their participation to meaningful causes, making the event a symbol of resilience and community.
When medical issues prevented Karis’ sister Nicole from running as planned, Chloe stepped in to take her place, continuing the family’s commitment to this cause.
“This traumatic experience has inspired us to run the London Marathon to raise funds for others in similar situations. We want to support organizations that provide vital assistance to individuals and families affected by brain injuries,”added Chloe.
Reflecting Our Values
This story exemplifies what it means to truly live our company’s “Be Human” value. It highlights the importance of taking meaningful action, showing compassion, and turning personal challenges into opportunities to make a positive difference.
At Amerge, we are honored to support this initiative and proud to see one of our own contributing to such an impactful cause. This effort reflects the strength of the human spirit and the importance of supporting others during life’s most challenging moments.
